The name La Clé Du Temps translates to English as “the key of time”, chosen for this watch due to a special set of functionality. Upon the owner’s command, time will slow down or speed up as displayed on the watch, ready to revert to the proper time as needed. While this symbolism may not have a functional value, it’s all about the imagination of its owner. Hublot wanted to give this watch’s wearer the sense that they themselves controlled the flow of time, and this machine was the source of their power. On a design level, this watch is quite a progression for Hublot and is likely to be Hublot Confrerie’s flagship timepiece. The matte black case is laced with glowing green accents and a metallic plate which all work together to yield a futuristic look. On the bottom of the case, a cylinder extends outward with a tourbillon which drives this watch’s movement. The display includes an hour/minute dial to the upper right, a 5-day power reserve display on the bottom left and the “key of time” system in the upper left. These images are only renderings for the time being, but expect Hublot to roll out a lot more news about their La Clé Du Temps Watch at the trade circuit this year. We’re excited to see if those glowing green accents will emit light or be visually passive… and we’re looking forward to seeing the price tag as well. More of this in 2011, please Hublot!
